History

  • During the Spring and Autumn periods, Shandong Province was mainly part of the Qi and Lu Kingdom. Qi, as one of the "Seven Warring States," occupied most of the Shandong region.
  • After unification by the Qin Dynasty, the land was split into Qi, Langya, Donghai, Dong, Xue and other counties.
  • At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Shandong Province established 10 ‘fu’ of Jinan, Dongchang, and Taian, and three states such as Jining and Linqing. In total, eight states and 96 counties came under the jurisdiction of the province.
