Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve
The Changbai Mountain Range is situated in Antu, Jilin Province, and extends over three counties, including Fusong and Changbai, covering a total area of 196,465 hectares.
The main targets of protection in the reserve are the temperate forest ecosystem, natural history, rare animals and plants. In 1960, the Changbai Mountain Protection Area was established and in 1986, it was elevated to the status of nature reserve.
The Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo
Located in Kuancheng of Changchun are the remains of the Imperial Palace during the period in which Aixinjueluo Puyi ascended the throne as emperor of the puppet state of Manchukuo, at the end of the Qing dynasty. Total area of the museum covers 137,000 square meters, and the palace remains are of the most complete in form among currently existing remains. It is also the historical site that introduces the horrors of the Japanese invasion and the colonization of the northeast area of China.
Jingyuetan National Forest Park, Changchun
Located in south east Changchun, Jilin Province, Jingyuetan National Forest Park covers a total area of about 100 km2 and boasts a forest coverage rate of 96 percent. As the sister lake of Lake Riyuetan in Taiwan, it is called ‘Asia’s biggest artificial forest’. The ponds are clear and the woods are dense, with numerous large hills. Mountain, water and forest are harmonized, creating fantastic scenery during all four seasons.
Beida Lake Ski Area
Located in the Jilin Sports Tourism Economic Development Zone, the Beida Lake Ski Area lies 53 km from the city of Jilin, and 126 km from Longji International Airport. Within the resort are, among other features, the Beidahu Ski Area, Qiaoshan Beidahu Resort Hotel and the Asian Winter Games Athlete’s Village Hotel. It is an international ski resort in which tourism, vacationing, and training for sporting events are all possible.
