The 1st NEAR Youth Essay Contest
The NEAR Youth Essay Contest was first held for youth as the driving force of the future in North East Asia, the biggest global power of the 21st century, to establish their identity and raise their capacity as mature citizens. The contest is designed to help the youth to consider the current issues of North East Asia, and it targets young people aged between 14 and 18 of the Regional Governments.
Although the essay contest was held for the first time, 33 works were submitted from 5 countries: 3 China, 3 Japan, 17 South Korea 3 Mongolia, and 7 Russia.
