NEAR Secretary-General, Hong Jong-kyoung, met with Lee Jae-Chun, acting CEO of Gyeongsangbuk-do Tourism Corporation (GTC), on his visit to the NEAR Secretariat on Thursday, January 25, 2018. They discussed future cooperation on tourism promotion in Northeast Asia. Six people attended this meeting, including the acting CEO Lee Jae-Chun, Chief Kim Hyoung-sik of Management Support Team, Chief Yoon Chun-bok Chief of Development Project Team from the GTC. From the NEAR Secretariat, Secretary-General Hong Jong-kyoung, Deputy-Secretary-General, Team Managers Park Sung-min, Choi Ju-hwa, and Keum Du-yeon attended.

At this meeting, opinions were shared on the establishment of networks, including tourism companies under the local government for the promotion of tourism, and project planning by GTC through participating NEAR Subcommittee meetings on Tourism (Coordinator: Hunan Province).  Following the working-level discussions and cooperation, an  MOU signing between NEAR and GCT was agreed upon.
