A delegation headed by Director Kusaka Junko of Shimane Prefecture visited the NEAR Secretariat on April 18, where a meeting was also held.
Director Nam Gun from the Department of Planning and Public Relations said, “The NEAR Secretariat welcomes the first visit of Shimane Prefecture. As a founding member of the association, the active participation of Shimane Prefecture as been of great assistance to the development of NEAR.

Director Kusaka Junko replied that NEAR had been a great platform for international cooperation between the regions in Northeast Asia. The prefectural government, which will be hosting the 17th Subcommittee Meeting on the Educational and Cultural Exchange, dated in August 18 to 23, expressed their hope for a high level of promotion and participation among member regions and the NEAR Secretariat.
