A delegation headed by Secretary-General Hong Jong-kyoung met with Governor Zenbee Mizoguchi of Shimane Prefecture at the governor’s office after attending the opening ceremony of ‘Wings of Northeast Asia Exchange in Shimane 2017.’ At the meeting, Secretary-General Hong reiterated the importance of the exchange and cooperation among the youth in North East Asia for co-prosperity and peace in the region and expressed his gratitude to Governor Mizoguchi for his continual efforts regarding youth exchange despite the recent diplomatic friction among countries in North East Asia. Governor Mizhoguchi responded that he would continue to make efforts for co-prosperity among the neighboring countries.  
 
Shimane Prefecture, the founding member of NEAR, has been holding Wings of North East Asia Exchange in Shimane, a youth exchange program in North East Asia as a part of subcommittee of Education and Cultural Exchange every year since 2002.
