NEAR Secretary-General Hong Jong-kyoung presented a congratulatory speech at the Opening Ceremony held on the morning of the  16 (Thur.) at the Subcommittee on Oceans and Fisheries in Yentai, Shandong Province from November 15 to 17.
The meeting was held as the ‘Forum on Innovative Development Demonstration of Marine Economy’ and was followed by discussions among NEAR member representatives and experts in various sessions, ‘Establishment and Development of Ocean Farms’, ‘Smart Equipment and the Ocean’ and ‘International Maritime Cooperation.’

In addition, Secretary-General Hong attended the VIP banquet hosted by Deputy Chief Yú guó'ān(于国安) of Shandong Province on Wednesday, November 15, the day before the opening ceremony, and held a meeting with Vice Chief Yú guó'ān and Governor Barth Sihan of Uvs Province, Mongolia. The participants and experts from NEAR member regions were divided into two groups and visited Weihai Sea Farm and Shandong International Bioscience Park on November 17 (Fri.).
