A NEAR Delegation headed by Secretary-General Hong Jong-Kyung, visited the Amur No-Hunting Zone Management Center in Khabarovsk City on April 13 (Fri), 2018 to hear briefings on measures to protect the nature of the no-hunting zone. The delegation also met with the director, Adoronov Vladimir, and other staff from the center to discuss their participation in the first Ibis Forum, which will be held in Hànzhōng, Shaanxi Province, China, from May 23 to 24 this year.

Director Andronov stated that he has been working to preserve the stork and ibis for a long time, although the ibis population is yet to be restored in Russia. Additionally, he stated that he hoped to participate in the first Ibis Forum.

The Amur No-Hunting Zone Management Center logo is the ibis, in hope that it will once again inhabit in Russia in the future. The ibis, which was once found throughout Northeast Asia has all but disappeared and only inhabits regions nearby Yáng Xiàn, Shannxi Province, China. Since 1999, the Chinese government has donated 5 ibises to Japan and 4 to Korea, which have become a symbol of friendship between Korea, China, and Japan.
