Prime-Minister of the Sakha Republic, Russia Visits NEAR Secretariat2018-11-13

On the morning of November 8, 2018, a delegation headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Solodov of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia visited the NEAR Secretariat in Pohang, also the venue for the first Korea-Russia Regional Cooperation Forum. The delegation met with NEAR Secretariat staff members and held a meeting with Secretary-General Hong Jong-kyoung. The Sakha Republic was selected as the 13th Chair of NEAR at the 12th NEAR General Assembly in Zhangjiaie, Hunan Province, China on Monday, October 29, 2018.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Solodov stated that the Sakha Republic, as the Chair of NEAR will make efforts to promote cooperation and exchange in various fields of economy and culture among NEAR members. Secretary-General Hong responded that the NEAR Secretariat will fully support the activities of the Sakha Republic as NEAR Chair. The Sakha Republic seconded an official to the NEAR Secretariat three months ago, and it has carried out duties and promoted cooperation among the NEAR member regional governments through the Secretariat.
