NEAR Secretariat Participated in the International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation Hosted by the TCS on June 142022-06-20

On June 14, Secretary-General Kim Ok-chae and three staff members of the NEAR Secretariat participated in the International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul. It was hosted by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat(TCS), an international organization based in Seoul.

 

At the international forum, which was themed “Future-Oriented Trilateral Cooperation: Lasting Peace, Common Prosperity, Shared Culture, well-known scholars and policymakers from three countries got together and shared new insights on the political environment, economic cooperation, and socio-cultural relations.



In the forum, TCS Secretary-General Ou Boqian gave an opening speech, followed by congratulatory remarks by Ambassador Aiboshi Koichi of Japan to Korea, Ambassador Xing Haiming of China to Korea, and 1st Vice Minister Cho Hyun-dong of Foreign Affairs of Korea. Keynote speeches by Governor Hirose Katsusada of Oita Prefecture of Japan, Former Vice Chairman Zhang Ping of the National People’s Congress standing Committee of China and Former Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik of Korea followed.

 

During the main sessions, presentations, discussions were held under the sub-themes “Engage to Embrace,” “A New Chapter,” and “From the Past to the Future.” Q & A sessions followed.



Secretary-General Kim, who was invited to the VIP luncheon promoted subsequent exchange and cooperation through networking with politicians, diplomats and economists at home and from abroad.


The TCS is an international organization established in Seoul in September 2011 with a vision to promote peace and prosperity among China, Japan and Korea.
