From October 28 to 31, Shan Yi, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province, visited Korea to strengthen interregional exchanges and cooperation between Korea and China.
On October 29, Vice Governor Shan attended the group courtesy meeting hosted by Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok for the Chinese delegation, after which he participated in the 3rd Korea-China Governors Forum held in Seoul and delivered congratulatory remarks. In his remarks, he emphasized Liaoning Province’s geographical and strategic advantages and expressed his hopes to strengthen cooperation with Korea in various fields, including industry, science and technology, and cultural and people-to-people exchange.
During his stay in Seoul, Vice Governor Shan and his delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea to meet with First Vice Minister Park Yun-joo, and the National Assembly to meet with Vice Speaker Lee Hak-yong. They also met NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin to discuss ways to expand exchanges and cooperation across various sectors at the regional government level.
Vice Governor Shan then visited Chungcheongnam-do Province, a sister region of Liaoning Province, where he met with Jeon Hyeong-sik, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, and inspected major local companies. The two sides explored areas for practical cooperation in fields such as food processing, semiconductors, and automobile parts.
