On February 21, the NEAR Secretariat received a reply from Governor Ren Zhenhe of Gansu Province, in response to the New Year Card sent by Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin
In his reply letter, Ren Zhenhe expressed his delight that Gansu Province officially became a NEAR member in October 2023. He acknowledged NEAR’s important role in promoting exchanges and cooperation among local governments in Northeast Asia. He also expressed his expectation that NEAR would take the lead in fostering economic trade and cultural exchanges among Northeast Asian local governments and driving economic development.
In addition, he expressed his hope that Gansu Province would further expand its cooperation with Northeast Asian local governments through the NEAR platform. He also extended an invitation to Secretary-General Lim to attend the 31st China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair in July and the 8th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo in September, both of which will be held in Gansu Province.
