New Chinese Resident Officer Cheng Anni Inaugurated at the NEAR Secretariat on December 282020-12-28

Cheng Anni, a government officer of the Foreign Affairs Office of Heilongjiang Province, China was inaugurated as the Chinese resident officer on December 28. She received a letter of appointment from Secretary General Kim Ok-chae and started working at the Secretariat.


After majoring in Korean Language at Heilongjiang University in China and receiving one year of Korean language training in Dongguk University in South Korea, Ms. Cheng worked as a government officer in Heilongjiang Province over a year and was in charge of matters related to the Northeast Asian region.


As the Chinese resident officer in the Department of the International Cooperation of the NEAR Secretariat, Ms. Cheng is in charge of liaison and coordination with Chinese member governments. Ms. Cheng stated that she would swiftly learn about the work system of NEAR and gain experience of international events in order to contribute to the development in relations between the NEAR Secretariat and Chinese member governments.
