Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin delivered his congratulatory speech through video at the 2024 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum, which is hosted by Shanxi Province from September 20 to 22.
In his speech, Mr. Lim stated that Shanxi Province holds an advantageous position in the area of energy development, such as wind power and solar energy, with the remarkable achievements it has recently made in high-quality energy development. He also conveyed his hope that the forum will be used as an opportunity for Shanxi to share its various achievements and contribute to the common goals of the entire humanity, including energy saving, and carbon reduction.
At the opening ceremony hosted by Governor Jin Xiangjun of Shanxi Province, Tang Dengjie, secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Committee, delivered a welcome remark. The event was attended both online and offline by major figures from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as diplomats stationed in China.
The Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum, hosted by the People’s Government of Shanxi, has been organized as an international event dedicated to environmental protection since 2016, with the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. It has been serving as a platform for high-level dialogue and cooperation, exerting international influence in the energy sector.
