Secretary General Kim Ok-chae held a meeting with Gim Su-yong, Dean of External Affairs of Mongolia International University (MIU), at the Secretariat on Thursday, February 6. In this meeting, Secretary General Kim agreed to co-host the ⌜Northeast Asia Young Leaders Forum⌟ with MIU in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in early August and discussed the specific details of promotion direction.

The NEAR Secretariat decided to hold and bear the costs of the ⌜Northeast Asia Young Leaders Forum⌟, in Mongolia, in consideration of the fact that thus far, Mongolian Regional Governments have had very few opportunities to host NEAR international exchange events. In response, MIU expressed its intentions to provide school facilities and an exchange program.

Various programs such as the Mongolian grassland experience will be prepared for this year’s event. The organizers anticipate the active participation of young people from NEAR member regions.
