The Khovsgul Provincial Government, Mongolian Association of Tourism, and Active Adventure Tour Mongol will hold the 'Blue Pearl 2019 Ice festival’ from March 2 to 4 at Khovsgul lake. This year marks the nineteenth run of the annual festival which boosts the local economy, supports the preservation of nature at Khuvsgul lake, and also supports eco-friendly tourism. During the festival, various events take place, including ice bicycle-riding, ice sculpture exhibition, horse-sled procession, motorcycle procession, reindeer-tribe procession, skating, tug of war on ice, ice archery match, traditional dress fashion show, and shaman ritual performance and fireworks.
