Yi Kun, a Government Officer Seconded from China to NEAR Secretariat2022-02-07

Yi Kun, a government official seconded from Huancui Disrict, Weihai City, Shandong Province, China to the NEAR Secretariat received a letter of appointment from Secretary-General Kim Ok-chae and started working at the Secretariat on Feb 7.


Ms. Yi obtained her master’s degree in tourism and business management from Jeju National University and worked in Korean universities, corporations and broadcasting companies.  Later on, she worked as a government official at the East Asia Bureau in Huancui District, Weihai City, Shandong Province for over two and a half years.



As a seconded officer in the Department of the International Cooperation of the NEAR Secretariat, Ms.Yi will be in charge of liaison and coordination with Chinese member regional governments.  She stated that she would like to acquire international cooperation experience at NEAR and do her best to contribute to the operation of the Secretariat.  She has already resided in Korea for over six years and gained a profound understanding of the Korean society and culture so that she is expected to successfully perform tasks at the Secretariat.
