The Korea China Japan Friendship Cooperation Forum, hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, will be held in Shaanxi Province, the habitat of the ibis, from October 28 to 30. Under the theme, “Relationship Initiated through ibis: a new opportunity and new future,” various topics will be discussed, including research for the cooperative protection of the ibis, tourism, culture creation, and media exchange. The ibis is a rare bird species and a symbol of friendship, granted as a gift to other nations by the Chinese government. Since 1999, the Chinese government has granted five and four ibises Japan and Korea, respectively.
