[Gansu Province, China] Gansu Province Hosts the 2024 China Gansu Economic, Trade, Cultural Tourism, and Agricultural Cooperation Promotion Conference

Gansu Province attended the "2024 China Gansu Economic, Trade, Cultural Tourism, and Agricultural Cooperation Promotion Conference" at the Ambassador Pullman Hotel in Seoul on Wednesday, November 8, and delivered a congratulatory speech.


The opening ceremony, moderated by Zhang Baojun, Director of the Gansu Province Foreign Affairs Office, featured congratulatory speeches from Shi Moujun, Secretary of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee; Fang Kun, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea; Kim Jun-hyung, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea; Lim Byung-jin, Secretary-General of NEAR; Kim Chun-jin, President of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation; and Lee Ji-hyeong, Head of KOTRA's Economic and Trade Cooperation Division.


In his congratulatory speech, Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin stated, "The Economic, Trade, and Agricultural Cooperation Promotion Conference being held today will serve as a platform for connecting Gansu Province and South Korea. It will not only foster practical cooperation between Gansu and South Korea but also play a positive role in the friendly cooperation between China and South Korea."


The conference was hosted by the Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce, the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Gansu Provincial People's Government, with cooperation from the Korea-China Cultural Friendship Association. The event aimed to introduce Gansu Province’s investment and trade environment to key Korean institutions and businesses, while promoting opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, including economic trade, cultural tourism, and agriculture. A total of approximately 160 participants, including key officials from Gansu and South Korea, as well as representatives from businesses and organizations, attended the conference.


After the conference, the "Korea-China Business & Institution MOU Signing Ceremony" took place, where representatives from 48 Gansu Province companies, including the New Silk Road Industrial Investment Co. and Gansu Cultural Tourism Group, signed MOUs with Korean companies and institutions. The MOUs covered areas of cooperation in economics, cultural tourism, and agriculture.
