Background and Purpose
The Subcommittee on Mineral Resources Development was established at the 7th NEAR Working Committee meeting in 2009, and Magadan Region, Russia, was decided as the coordinator of the subcommittee.
The Subcommittee on Mineral Resources Development aims to cooperate and support in the development of mineral resources, share information, exchange innovative technology and train human resources in terms of the utilization of mineral resources, and protect the environment through sharing information on major mineral deposits and the current state of the development in Northeast Asia so that an investment environment for developing resources in Northeast Asia can be formed in a stable manner.
Since the subcommittee was established in July 2010 in Magadan City, meetings have been held biennially.
Major Activities
Improve international cooperation and exchange in terms of the utilization of mineral resources
Exchange technology and information on the development of mineral resources
Encourage mining companies in Northeast Asia to participate in the activities of the subcommittee
Hold international events to review the possibility of developing mineral resources jointly and find development direction
