The hub of exchange & cooperation in Northeast Asia
Introduction
Subcommittee on Agriculture
Coordinator
Jeollanam-do Province, South Korea
Background and Purpose
From September 2008, Jeollanam-do Province proposed the necessity of a joint study for the stable production and supply of agricultural products in Northeast Asia and information exchange in the area of agriculture, citing the influence of climate change, including global warming. Against this backdrop, the Subcommittee on Agriculture was established and resolved at the 8th Working Committee Meeting. After its first meeting in 2013, the second subcommittee meeting was held in 2015.
It aims to seek joint solutions related to the stable production of agricultural products - advanced agricultural administration policies, technology exchange in agriculture, joint cooperative businesses - between member regional governments via the Subcommittee on Agriculture as climate change takes place.
