On April 15, the newly appointed Mongolian consul in Busan Tsogtoo Unurzaya visited the NEAR Secretariat and engaged in dialogue with Secretary General Kim Ok-chae. They exchanged opinions on ways the consulate could collaborate with the NEAR Secretariat.
Secretary General Kim highlighted that every metropolitan and regional government in Mongolia were NEAR members. He suggested that, going forward, the Secretariat could support Mongolian member regional governments in international exchange through close trilateral cooperation between Mongolian regional governments, the consulate, and the NEAR Secretariat.
Established in 2006, the Consulate of Mongolia in Busan has jurisdiction over Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, Jeollanam-do Province, Daegu Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City, Ulsan Metropolitan City, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and others, where a combined total of over 10,000 Mongolian people reside.
