History

  • During the Xizhou period, Shaanxi was named after its location in the western district of Shanyuan.
  • During the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it was part of the Qin State.
  • Since the 11th century B.C., Shaanxi was the old capital of 13 different dynasties such as Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang.
