Wudang Mountains
Located in Shiyan, Hubei Province, the Wudang Mountains have been listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is a National Park of China, and a National 5A Level Scenic Area. A famous Taoist mountain, it is also the birthplace of Wudang martial arts.
Xiling Gorge
Xiling Gorge is adjacent to the entrance of west Xiangxi of Zigui County, Hubei Province. To the east, it surrounded by Namjin of Yuchang, Hubei Province. Historically, it was famous for the perilous boat routes, which were meandering and surrounded by jagged rocks. Following the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the waters have become settled and it has become easy to appreciate through several refurbishment projects for boat route and dam construction on Chuan River.
Yellow Crane Tower
Boasting a magnificent form near Wuhan Snake Mountain in Wuchang, Yellow Crane Tower is called one of three luxury towers of Jiangnan (south part of river) along with Yueyang Tower of Hunan Province and Tengwang Pavilion of Jiangxi Province. It is said that the Yellow Crane Tower was build for military purpose in AD 223. Declaring “Rule the country with force and prosper,” Sungquan defended the city by building the castle and monitored the enemy by building the tower. Moving into the Tang dynasty, its military purpose declined and gradually changed to a scenic spot, where writers and calligrapher of that time visited and were inspired to write many poems.
Dong Lake
Dong Lake is a major location for sightseeing and engaging with cultural tourism of the state of Chu, which consists of Chucheng, Chushi, Phoenix Sign, Vulcan Stargazing and the Lisao Monument. It features the Dong Lake Plum Garden which is one of the four great plum farms in Jiangnan, and Dong Lake Cherry Blossom Farm, which is one of the three world cherry blossom viewing spots, and ocean world, Nioyulin. The China Plum Research Center and China Lotus Research Center are also located there.
