The NEAR Secretariat played a crucial role in facilitating the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council's visit to Liaoning Province, China, which took place from December 20 to 24. The Secretariat coordinated a meeting with HAO Peng, Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, organized a visit to the Korean Consulate General in Shenyang, and arranged a meeting with the Yeongam Hometown Association in Shenyang. Additionally, an international cooperation officer responsible for Chinese members from the NEAR Secretariat accompanied the delegation, providing interpretation services.

As a result of this visit, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Council and the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress jointly decided to enhance the promotion of friendship and cooperation. They also expressed a mutual commitment to expanding exchanges, particularly in the realms of economic and cultural tourism.
