On March 8, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin attended the reception and opening ceremony of the 1st Mongolian Film Festival held at the Busan Cinema Center at the invitation of the Mongolian Consulate in Busan to mark the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Mongolia. Mr. Lim viewed the opening film, "The Woman"

Mr. Lim expressed his congratulations to Tsogtoo Unurzaya, the consul of Mongolia in Busan and the host of the event. He also met with Oxana Dudnik, the consul-general of the Russian Federation in Busan, Yu Lifei, the vice consul-general of China in Busan, and officials from the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Busan. Mr. Lim provided an overview of NEAR activities for this year and requested their continued interest in and support for NEAR. He also called on Kazakh officials to expedite Kazakhstan’s application for NEAR associate membership

The reception included the signing of an MOU between the Consulate of Mongolia in Busan, Hannarae Culture Incorporated, and the Busan Cinema Center for the development of the Mongolian Film Festival. The reception also featured a congratulatory music performance played on the morin khuur, a traditional Mongolian stringed instrument. During the opening ceremony, Kim Kwang-hee, vice mayor for affairs of Busan Metropolitan City, and Ms. Unurzaya delivered congratulatory remarks.
