○ HAO Peng, party secretary of Liaoning Province, China, visited South Korea from April 22 to 25 to explore ways to enhance cooperation between South Korea and Liaoning Province.

○ During his travels, Mr. Hao met with Korean dignitaries including HAN Duck-soo, the prime minister; CHO Tae-yul, the foreign minister; CHEONG Inkyo, the minister for trade at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; and KIM Dong-yeon, governor of Gyeonggi Province. He also visited Korea’s major enterprises (incl. CJ and SK) and attended events celebrating the resumption of Incheon-Dalian ferry service and the signing of an agreement to boost exchange & cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Liaoning Province.

○ While meeting with Prime Minster Han Duck-soo on April 25, Mr. Hao expressed his hopes that his visit would lay a foundation to bolster exchange between Liaoning Province and South Korea.
