○ Daegu Metropolitan City is promoting five new industries (UAM, semiconductors, robotics, healthcare, and ABB) as its focus areas.

○ Plug and Play, a leading startup incubation support organization in Silicon Valley, the USm will open its second Korean branch in Daegu Metropolitan City, which is the first branch in non-metropolitan area, after establishing a Seoul branch in 2021. 

○ Prior to the opening of the Daegu Scale-up Hub "Dash," Chairman Saeed Amindi of the Plug and Play met with Daegu Mayor HONG Joon-pyo on Thursday, April 13 to discuss actively supporting and collaborating the city's unicorn company incubation

○ Plug and Play plans to discover and foster local start-ups as well as regional specialized companies such as giant companies and ABB technology companies. Daegu Metropolitan City plans to announce its venture start-up promotion plan in the first half of the year.
