On April 19, Shimane Prefecture, the coordinator of the Subcommittee on the Educational and Cultural Exchange, notified the Secretariat of its plan for subcommittee meeting this year.

This year Shimane Prefecture plans to hold the "Wings of Exchange in Shimane" event for local and international students, similar to that of last year. However, Shimane Prefecture plans to extend the event by one day to a total of three days and make some changes to the current program so as to create more exchange opportunities. Shimane Prefecture also announced its plans to invite students from NEAR members from 2024 on, as it used to do prior to the pandemic.
