Bae Sung-gil, the Director General of the Job Creation and Economy Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, visited the NEAR Secretariat on May 17. There, he met with Secretary General Kim Ok-chae and viewed a presentation on the current status of NEAR.
There, Secretary General Kim gave a presentation on the roles of NEAR as a platform for public diplomacy between regional governments. Mr. Kim and Mr. Bae exchanged their opinions on effective ways to conduct exchange between member regional governments and the roles of the Secretariat as a bridgehead.
Mr. Bae took office as the Director General of the Job Creation and Economy Bureau in January. He has promised to interact with the Secretariat regularly.
