On January 8, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin visited the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he met with KIM Geon, special representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, and CHUNG Byung-won, deputy-minister of Foreign Affairs, to explain NEAR and its activities in 2023, and to request their interest and support for NEAR in the future, as exchanges and cooperation among local governments in Northeast Asia can contribute to regional stability.

Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung stated that the visit was an opportunity for them to better understand NEAR and expressed interest in NEAR's future activities.
