KIM Hee-soo, a member of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council, (former vice chairperson) visited the Secretariat on January 18. Mr. Kim exchanged views on issues of mutual interest with Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin.

After providing an overview of the 2023 NEAR activities and presenting the 2024 project plans, Mr. Lim discussed ways to revitalize the participation of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Pohang City in NEAR activities, and expressed his gratitude to Mr/ Kim for his deep interest and support for the NEAR Secretariat over the years.

In response, Mr. Kim acknowledged NEAR's crucial role as a platform for multilateral exchange and cooperation among local governments in Northeast Asia, despite facing various challenges. He conveyed his interest and provided active support for the future development of NEAR.
