Kim Won-gon Inaugurated as the New Director of International Cooperation Team of NEAR Secretariat2019-10-01

Kim Won-gon, a reserve colonel who served as the cooperative director of the Korean Army of central command in the US became a new member of the NEAR Secretariat having received an appointment certificate from Secretary General Kim Ok-chae on October 1.
As the new director of the international cooperation team, Kim Won-gon has enriched his command leadership and international business experience serving as a major commander and as battalion and regimental commanders at army headquarters, performing policy business at the Ministry of National Defense. He received policy training at the Royal Institute for Defense, and worked as the cooperative director of the Korean Army of central command in America having graduated from the Korea Military Academy in 1984.
In particular, Director Kim obtained a master’s degree in politics from the Graduate School of Korea University, majoring in international relations. He also completed a doctoral course at Kookmin University where he specialized in security strategy. Therefore, as an expert combining theory and business practice, he is expected to contribute to the development of international exchange in the business of NEAR Secretariat moving forward.
