On December 6, NEAR Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin met with President HABA Kumiko of the International Studies Association, Asia-Pacific Region, at the NEAR International Forum and the 14th Subcommittee on Economic and Humanities Exchange.

Mr. Lim welcomed Ms. Haba, who had traveled a long way to make the presentation and introduced NEAR and the activities of Japanese members.

Ms. Haba expressed her gratitude for the invitation, regretted that there were only a few Japanese attendees, and said that she would actively promote the event to encourage more members to participate in the future.

At the expert session of the NEAR International Forum 2023, Ms. Haba also delivered a speech entitled, "Make East Asia a Center of Peace and Prosperity, where the regions and citizens take the lead in promoting peace.”
