○ A 25-member delegation headed by Governor Shinji Hirai, including private exchange groups and the university students of Tottori Prefecture, visited Gangwon State from July 4 to 5.
○ On July 4, Governor Shinji Hirai and Kim Jin-tae, governor of Ganwon State, met at the Gangwon Provincial Office. They shared their commitment to creating a favorable environment for the youth to leap into a brighter future and signed a joint declaration as part of efforts to address the population decline issue, a common challenge for both regions.
○ On the same day, Gangwon-Tottori Friendship Begin Again Concert took place to celebrate Tottori’s visit, being attended by over 100 young adults including students of Hallym University, Gangwon University, and Tottori University. Additionally, an exhibition was held to promote the renowned figures, books, and local products of the both regions.
○ This year marks the 30th anniversary since the establishment of sisterhood relationship between Tottori Prefecture and Gangwon State in 1994.
