In anticipation of the 14th NEAR General Assembly scheduled to be held on October 25, in Ulsan, Korea, Maeil Business TV conducted an interview with Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin.

During the interview, NEAR's mission, organizational structure, key initiatives, and future endeavors were outlined. Mr. Lim highlighted the NEAR Secretariat's Young Leaders Forum and Youth Art Contest, along with the primary agenda of the Ulsan General Assembly. He also discussed the significance of the Ulsan Declaration, emphasizing the importance of sustained regional cooperation in Northeast Asia.

Mr. Lim underscored the critical need for pragmatic regional diplomacy aimed at fostering mutual development while mitigating conflicts and tensions prevalent in Northeast Asia involving ideologies, territorial disputes, and historical issues. He revealed plans to promote the so-called 'NEAR Member Governors’ Conference' through the NEAR platform.
