On October 24, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin met with a delegation from Gansu Province, led by ZHANG Baojun, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Gansu Province. The delegation's visit to Ulsan Metropolitan City was in conjunction with their participation in the 14th NEAR General Assembly.

During the meeting, Mr. Lim highlighted the historical significance of the General Assembly, being the largest and highest-level event in NEAR's history, attended by 22 vice governors or governors and 34 director-general-level officials from 52 member regions. He warmly congratulated Gansu on becoming the 81st full member of NEAR and urged the province to take a leading role in NEAR's development. He encouraged Gansu to actively participate in NEAR activities, emphasizing the province's potential to contribute significantly to the common prosperity and peaceful development of the Northeast Asian region.

In response, Zhang Baojun expressed deep gratitude for Secretary-General Lim's active support for Gansu's NEAR membership. He sought the continued support of the NEAR Secretariat, assuring that Gansu would leverage its strengths in culture, industry, and other sectors to actively collaborate with local governments in Northeast Asia through the NEAR platform.
