On October 24, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin warmly welcomed a delegation from Liaoning Province, led by Vice Governor JIN Guowei, to the 14th NEAR General Assembly in Ulsan Metropolitan City.

During their meeting, Mr. Lim expressed his delight at meeting Mr. Jin for the fourth time this year. He shared that this year's General Assembly marked a historic milestone, being the largest and most high-profile event ever, with 22 vice-governor-level and 34 director-general-level officials from 52 member regions participating. He extended heartfelt congratulations to Liaoning Province for its significant achievements: being elected as the 15th chair at the General Assembly, coordinating the NEAR Subcommittee on Digital Economy, and signing a letter of intent with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, upon efforts made by the NEAR Secretariat. Mr. Lim assured full support from the NEAR Secretariat to ensure Liaoning Province's successful tenure as the chair for the next two years.

Mr. Jin commended NEAR as a crucial platform for multilateral cooperation among local governments in Northeast Asia. He pledged substantial efforts from Liaoning Province to foster the development of NEAR during its two-year term as the chair.
