From 8^th to 10^th of November, the Secretariat delegation led by Secretary General Kim visited Toyama Prefecture (Japan), the organizer and coordinator of the 10^th Sub-Committee on Environment to support the meeting. On the sidelines, Mr. Kim met with Director Nitta Akira of the International Cooperation Office of the Japanese Ministry of Environment and Director-General Nobuo Igarashi of the Civic Affairs，Environment & Culture Department of Toyama Prefecture to exchange views on environmental policies in Japan and the future path of NEAR.

Meanwhile, in his visit to Fukuoka, he met with Director-General Saruwatari Minoru of the International Exchange Dept. of Fukuoka Prefectural Government to introduce NEAR and seek cooperation, while exchanging information on the “Korea-Japan Strait Governors' Meeting,” which the Prefecture had been actively engaged in.
