The 12th Sub-Committee on Environment was held on November 11~12, 2015 at Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The meeting was attended by more than 40 people from six regions of four countries, including Korea, China, Japan, and Russia and discussed the plan to promote environmental cooperation. In addition to selecting next coordinating region, member regions coordinated their opinions on suggestions of individual projects regarding environment and activity plans of the Sub-Committee and discussed it. The Sub-Committee on Environment has been held every year since 1999. Since 2005, the Sub-Committee has been held every other year and this year marks the 12th anniversary. The NEAR Secretariat was in attendance this year after participating in the 11th meeting and stated that the NEAR Secretariat will try its efforts to contribute to addressing environmental problem by sharing information related to environmental preservation system.
