Twenty-one award-winning works of the NEAR Youth Art Contest have been selected to be exhibited at the Pohang International Art Fair 2023. They are on display at Gallery Sangsaeng in Pohang City between October 4 and October 25.

The NEAR Youth Art Contest has been held annually since 2016 to help youth in Northeast Asia understand Northeast Asian culture and surroundings.  Over the past seven years, about 2,000 youth from 51 member regions of five NEAR countries have participated.

The Pohang International Art Fair 2023, which was held in August this year in Pohang following exhibitions in Istanbul, Turkey, and Seoul, is exhibiting the best works of the NEAR Youth Art Contest, which was themed, "Go together," as well as works by 41 renowned Korean artists and entries by students from Pohang Art High School.

WOO Dae-beom, director of the Planning and Public Relations Department of the NEAR Secretariat, attended the opening ceremony of the Pohang International Art Fair and delivered a congratulatory speech, saying, "We congratulate the Pohang International Art Fair for holding the exhibition.” Then, he actively promoted the NEAR Youth Art Contest so that many youth in the region can participate in it.

The NEAR Secretariat has been exhibiting the best works of the NEAR Youth Art Contest at the Pohang International Art Fair every year since 2019, and has received many favorable comments from visitors.
