○ On October 31, Gyeongsangbuk-do held the 2023 Gyeongsangbuk-do-Jilin University Student Speech Contest in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China, its friendship city.

○ 17 students from 12 universities with Korean language departments in Jilin advanced to the final round of the contest, where they presented on one of five pre-announced topics in the presentation session and proceeded with immediate questions-and-answers, and four winners were selected, with the first place winner receiving 2,000 yuan and a six-month study abroad program at a university in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

○ Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jilin Province, seeing the students' enthusiasm for Korean culture and the results of the friendly city exchanges, agreed to hold Korean speaking contests in Jilin Province regularly in the future.
