The 1^st Sub-Committee on Energy & Climate Change will be held on 28-30 August in Daegu Metropolitan City, Korea, under the theme of “Northeast Asia United through Energy.” The inaugural meeting of the Sub-Committee will be organized back-to-back with the International LED & Display Korea, the biggest trade fair in Korea for LED industry, not only to form a partnership to fight climate change, but also to expand opportunities for policy exchange and business cooperation among participating regions.

Daegu Metropolitan City, one of Korea’s top three cities with a population of 2.5 million, has given great efforts to realize a green Solar City for the first time in Korea by promoting renewable energy industries and greening urban landscape and environment. It will also organize the World Energy Conference known as the "Olympics of Energy” in 2013.
