Shandong Province, a Chinese NEAR member, will host the 2023 NEAR Subcommittee Meeting on Oceans and Fisheries between September 21 and 23, 2023, in Weihai City, under the theme of "Leading Green Technology, Empowering Digital Capabilities."

Jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the NEAR Subcommittee on Oceans and Fisheries, it will feature four sessions: "Digital Transformation of Marine Economy," "Construction and Development of Marine Testing Grounds," "Ecological Protection and High Quality Development of Marine Areas," and "Introduction to Marine Healthy Food and Meal Kit Products."

Shandong Province will invite one person from each NEAR member country at the level of the provincial head (co-head) to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony as well as experts and scholars who wish to make presentations in each session.
