Tottori Prefecture participated the 2007 East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF) held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from September 5-7.  EATOF, founded in Gangwondo Province, Korea in 1999, brings industry-academia-government tourism officials from 10 East Asian countries together with the aim of increasing the number of tourists to each member regions by enhancing mutual understanding and inter-regional exchange and cooperation in the field of tourism.

Among other NEAR member regional governments, Gangwondo Province (Korea), Tuv Aimag (Mongolia) and Primorsky Region (Russia) took part in this event as well.
