On June 9, Anhui Province held the “2-23 First RCEP Local Government and Friendly City Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum “ at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Huangshan City to celebrate the ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the world’s largest free trade agreement (FTA), by all 15 countries.

This forum was co-organized by the China People’s Association for friendship with Foreign Countries and the Anhui Provincial Government. It was held both online and offline under the theme of “Regional Cooperation and Shared Future.” It was attended by CAI Dafeng, vice chairman of the National People’s Congress, WANG Qingxian, governor of Anhui Province, LIN Songtian, chairman of the China People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, YU hong, ambassador of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Tin Maung Swe, Myanmar ambassador to China, KAO Kim Hourn, secretary-general of ASEAN (online), HOU Yanqi, Secretary-general of the China-ASEAN Center, LIM Byung-jin, secretary-general of NEAR, and KIM Young-jun, Korean consul-general in Shanghai. In addition, more than 500 representatives of governments and international organizations from RCEP countries, diplomatic missions, entrepreneurs, scholars, and others participated in the forum both online and offline.

The forum was accompanied by side events such as the friendship city exchange meetings, economic trade, and development zone cooperation meetings. As a result, 13 agreements were signed such as the Sisterhood Agreement between Anhui Province and Attapeu Province of Lao PDR.
