Shimane Prefecture, Japan, the coordinator for the Subcommittee on Educational and Cultural Exchange will hold the “Wings of Northeast Asia Exchange 2023 in Shimane” on three separate occasions between September and October.

The program has been held annually since 2002 in Shimane Prefecture for university students from Northeast Asia to promote mutual understanding and friendly exchange in the region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was cancelled in 2020, held online in 2021, and held face-to-face in 2022 only for Northeast Asian students living in Shimane Prefecture. This year, as the pandemic is still under way during the event planning stage, the program will be held for young adults living in Shimane Prefecture, as it was in 2022.

Starting next year, we will invite young people from NEAR members to Shimane Prefecture, as we did prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
