Jeollanam-do Province announced that it would host the 31^st Korea-Japan Strait  Coastal Area Governors' Conference in Yeosu. It will be held under the theme of "Revitalization of Tourism" between October 30 and 31.

The Korea-Japan Strait Coastal Area Governors' Conference was established in 1992 to promote the common development of the Korea-Japan Strait Coastal region. South Korea's Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, Busan Metropolitan City, and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province are current members, while Japan's Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, and Yamaguchi prefectures are participating.
