On Thursday, July 27, Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin Lim paid a visit to the Government Office of Tuv Aimag. The purpose of the visit was to hold a meeting with Governor D. Munkhbaatar, expressing gratitude for the invitation to the Nadam Festival while also extending congratulations on the momentous occasion of Tuv Aimag's 100th anniversary to mark its foundation. During their meeting, Mr. Lim conveyed his appreciation for Tuv Aimag's active engagement in NEAR events and initiatives. He also took the opportunity to formally invite Mr. Munkhbaatar to participate in the upcoming NEAR General Assembly scheduled for this October.

In response, Mr. Munkhbaatar conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Lim for his presence at the Nadam Festival, a commemorative event celebrating the centenary establishment of Tuv Aimag. The governor highlighted Tuv Aimag's commitment to environmental initiatives and youth exchange programs facilitated through NEAR. Furthermore, he shared Tuv Aimag's aspirations to forge exchange with other NEAR member regions, as Tuv Aimag is a key logistics hub for food supply in Ulaanbaatar, and also has substantial potential for collaboration in the realms of youth exchange and tourism.

During their discussion, Mr. Lim introduced NEAR's subcommittees on logistics and tourism. He expressed hope that Tuv Aimag's active involvement in these subcommittees would enhance their relationship with other member regions.

Mr. Lim's visit also included his attendance at a welcome at the opening ceremony of the Nadam Festival, commemorating Tuv Aimag's century-long existence. The dinner served as a platform for Mr. Lim to introduce NEAR. Additionally, it afforded him the opportunity to engage with prominent officials from Tuv Aimag, including Jambalsuren, chairman of the Aimag Assembly, and Enkhbald, a parliamentary member from Tuv Aimag. Other distinguished guests in attendance included JEONG Kwang-yeol, vice-governor for Economic Affairs of Gangwon Province; KAMEI Kazuyoshi, vice-governor of Tottori Prefecture; JEONG Jang-sun, mayor of Pyeongtaek City; and LI Jianhua, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Province.

At the opening ceremony, local residents and invited guests watched various events such as Mongolian history reenactments, horseback riding, wrestling, archery, and traditional dances.
