The NEAR Secretariat invited Professor Ham Beom-hee from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics and held a special lecture titled “Background and Role of Exchange and Cooperation Among Regional Governments in the East Sea Rim.”
The professor presented the status of logistics in China, Japan, Mongolia, Russia, North Korea and CIS countries, and the appropriateness and necessity of the cooperation of the entities of the region over and hour and thirty minutes. In this regard, the role of NEAR, a multilateral cooperative organization in North East Asia is also very important to North East Asian regional municipalities.

Professor HAM also emphasized, “Regarding the fact that 600km/h express trains have been developed, 500km/h in Japan, the era of ‘Railway Leads, Road Follows’ will soon come. Moreover, if Korea is united and the Korean peninsula will be travelable in a single day, policies on logistics shall be prepared.”
